The city’s best restaurants for Chinese feasting
With one-third of San Francisco’s population being Asian, it’s no wonder that there is a ton of amazing Asian cuisine here. Chinese food is no exception, and in fact, may lead the Asian food pack. An entire neighborhood in the city is dedicated to the ethnicity, and it is bursting with amazing food and drink.
To be fair, not all of the options are top-notch, so let this map guide you to the best of the best, both within and outside of Chinatown. Be it Sichuan, Cantonese, dim sum, traditional, modern, cheap, expensive, and more, this list is replete with excellent Chinese restaurants. All you have to do is pick one and go.
In terms of its sheer ambition, China Live commands recognition. Restaurateur George Chen’s 30,000 square-foot complex includes a central restaurant with classic dishes (and un-missable Shen Jian Bao) as well as a retail store, a grab-and-go bar, and a tea lounge. And that’s just on the first floor: Upstairs, visitors will find whisky speakeasy Cold Drinks and the steeply priced but lavish tasting menu restaurant Eight Tables.- Eater San Francisco (12.22.17)
