This year is gearing up to end with a thrilling set of restaurants, lounges and rooftop bars as the long summer days turn to autumn. Major names like Dominique Crenn and Lazy Bear will be opening up highly anticipated casual concepts, Charlie Palmer’s downtown Napa hotel and restaurant will potentially become a Wine Country anchor and Ayesha Curry is set to make her full-time restaurant debut. We hope you’re as hungry as we are for the season ahead.
Eight Tables by George Chen
ETA: Early September
Many facets of the ambitious 30,000-square-foot Chinatown project China Live are already open — the marketplace, cafe, main-floor Market Restaurant and hidden, Old Shanghai–themed Cold Drinks bar. The next giant step is Eight Tables, the crown jewel for chef-owner George Chen. It will be an intimate prix fixe destination on the second floor with, yes, eight tables in total and a more complex, technique-driven menu. Design firm AvroKo (James Beard winner this year for Healdsburg’s Single Thread) is responsible for the room’s airy, modern design. – Zagat (08.01.17)
